The Future of Mobility is Here: Meet Our Trio of Next-Gen Kia PV5 WAVs
2 minutes read time
GM Coachwork are delighted to reveal three new WAV’s based on the bold and exciting new KIA PV5. Spawning the dawn of a new era for accessible motoring the electric PV5’s have been developed to deliver innovation, flexibility, and independence for wheelchair users and their families. The range includes three distinct models – the eChorus, eQuantum, and eNevada each designed to meet different mobility needs while maintaining comfort, safety, and practicality.
The KIA PV5 eChorus from GM Coachwork is a five-seat wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) designed to accommodate a wheelchair passenger in the third row. It combines everyday practicality with thoughtful accessibility features.
The conversion includes a unique fold-flat ramp system, ensuring the luggage compartment remains fully usable when the ramp is stowed. The rear floor has been lowered to increase entrance headroom and optimise interior space for the wheelchair passenger.
A lightweight, single-piece assisted ramp allows for easy one-handed operation, supporting both independence and caregiver convenience. A secure four-point restraint system ensures the wheelchair passenger remains safe and stable throughout the journey.
The KIA PV5 eQuantum is a four-seat wheelchair accessible vehicle designed to position the wheelchair passenger alongside rear occupants in the second row, creating a more inclusive travel experience.
Featuring a lowered floor in the rear cabin, the eQuantum provides two rear seats as standard, with the option of additional tip-and-fold seating at the back of the vehicle for added flexibility.
By positioning the wheelchair passenger in the second row, the eQuantum promotes greater integration and social interaction between passengers.
Like the eChorus, it features a lightweight, single-piece assisted ramp for smooth one-handed operation, along with a secure four-point restraint system to ensure safe and comfortable travel.
Finally, the KIA eNevada is purpose-built to enable a wheelchair user to drive directly from their wheelchair. Engineered around independence and accessibility, it delivers a seamless and empowering driving experience.
The eNevada features a full-length flat floor to maximise entry clearance and interior headroom, creating a spacious and practical environment. At the press of a button on the remote key fob, the powered tailgate opens and the rear ramp automatically deploys to allow smooth entry. Once inside, the wheelchair driver manoeuvres into position behind the steering wheel, where their wheelchair securely locks into a floor-mounted docking station. A further press of the fob retracts the ramp and closes the tailgate, preparing the vehicle for departure quickly and efficiently. Interchangeable front seats allow the wheelchair driver and front passenger to switch positions when desired, offering added flexibility for shared driving responsibilities.
All three models are available on the Motability scheme and private purchase.
