The Kia PV5 range available on Motability & private purchase, converted for wheelchair users
The vehicles above are wheelchair accessible conversions of the Kia PV5, not the standard car. Most PV5 Motability offers you will find online are for the PV5 Passenger, Kia’s unconverted people carrier, where anyone who uses a wheelchair has to transfer into a seat and stow the chair.
What we build is different: the wheelchair user boards up a rear ramp in their own chair and travels in it, restrained, or in the eNevada drives from it.
You may also have read that Kia is launching its own PV5 WAV. That factory-built version boards from the side, through the sliding door, and as of September 2026 it cannot yet be ordered in the UK. The three conversions on this page are available now, on the Motability Scheme or to buy.

Which conversion suits you
Start with where the wheelchair user will travel, or whether they will drive. Then check the seats and the headroom against the people who travel with you.
The Kia PV5 eChorus places the wheelchair user in the third row and keeps Kia’s original 60/40 split rear bench in front of them, with two to five seated passengers plus the wheelchair user. Its ramp is lightweight and assisted, so one person can lower and raise it with one hand, and it folds flat into the floor when it is not in use. Interior headroom is 55 inches (1406 mm). It suits families who want the full rear bench kept for passengers.
The Kia PV5 eQuantum places the wheelchair user in the second row, alongside the other rear passengers, with four to six seated passengers plus the wheelchair user and optional tip-and-fold seats. It has the most headroom in the range, 56.5 inches (1437 mm), and an EASYFLEX rear ramp that folds flat when not in use. It suits larger families, and anyone who wants the wheelchair user in the middle of the conversation rather than behind it.
The Kia PV5 eNevada is for a wheelchair user who wants to drive. At the touch of a button on the key fob the powered tailgate opens and the ramp deploys; you board along a full-length flat floor and drive from your own wheelchair. An interchangeable front seating system and an optional second-row seat carry two to three seated passengers plus the wheelchair driver, with 55.1 inches (1400 mm) of headroom. Motability price list: Advance Payments and what the lease includes
On the Motability Scheme you exchange your qualifying mobility allowance for a lease. For a wheelchair accessible vehicle you usually pay an Advance Payment up front as well, because a converted vehicle costs more than the allowance alone covers.
The Advance Payment on the Kia PV5 eChorus starts from £8,595. For the eQuantum and eNevada, call our Motability team on 01626 333000 for the current figure. Figures are for the vehicle as listed. The scheme is run by Motability Operations, which reviews prices each quarter, so confirm the current figure with us before you order.
Who can join the Motability Scheme
To join, you need a qualifying mobility allowance with at least 12 months left to run: the higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance, the enhanced rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment, the enhanced rate mobility part of Adult Disability Payment or the higher rate mobility component of Child Disability Payment in Scotland, Armed Forces Independence Payment, or War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement.
What the five-year lease includes
The lease on a new wheelchair accessible vehicle runs for five years, rather than the three years usual for a standard Motability car. Beyond the Advance Payment it is paid from your allowance, and the package includes:
- insurance, with up to three drivers
- servicing and maintenance
- full RAC breakdown assistance
- yearly vehicle tax
- replacement tyres
- windscreen repair or replacement
- for an electric vehicle like the PV5, a home chargepoint and a standard installation
- many adaptations at no extra cost
No-cost adaptations and bespoke options
No-cost adaptations include push/pull hand controls, steering aids, pedal extensions and upgraded 150 kg or 200 kg wheelchair restraints; the full list is on each vehicle’s page. Electric wheelchair accessible vehicles: range and charging
Every vehicle in this range is fully electric, with a choice of two batteries. Kia’s official WLTP combined range for the PV5 is 179 miles with the 51.5 kWh battery, which gives 120 bhp, and 256 miles with the 71.2 kWh battery, which gives 160 bhp. Real-world range is lower in cold weather and at motorway speeds, so if you regularly make long winter journeys, the larger battery is the one to look at.
On a 7 kW home charger, a charge from 10% to full takes up to seven hours on the smaller battery and up to ten on the larger, which an overnight charge covers. On a 150 kW public rapid charger, 10% to 80% takes under 30 minutes. On the Motability Scheme an electric vehicle comes with a home chargepoint and a standard installation, where your home is suitable for one.
An electric WAV also meets ULEZ and Clean Air Zone standards, and there are no exhaust fumes at the rear ramp if the heating is left running while someone boards.

GM Coachwork’s Kia range is the PV5, in the three layouts above. We do not convert other Kia models, so an older Kia WAV such as a converted Sedona will be a used WAV. Each conversion is built on a new vehicle and carries our three-year conversion warranty alongside Kia’s manufacturer warranty on the base vehicle.

Yes, in two forms. Kia’s dealers offer the standard PV5 Passenger alongside their other Kia Motability cars, and GM Coachwork offers the three wheelchair accessible PV5 conversions on this page, each with an Advance Payment. To join, you need a qualifying mobility allowance, such as the higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance or the enhanced rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment, with at least 12 months left to run.

The PV5 Passenger is Kia’s standard people carrier, offered on the scheme through Kia PBV dealerships with a lower Advance Payment, because nothing has been converted. Anyone who uses a wheelchair has to transfer into a seat and stow the chair. Our PV5 WAV has been designed to provide greater independence and has been engineered with a rebuilt floor and a rear ramp, so the wheelchair user boards and travels in their own chair, or drives from it in the eNevada.
If the wheelchair user transfers comfortably and the chair folds, the standard vehicle may be enough; if not, you need a conversion.
Yes. The three GM Coachwork conversions on this page are available now, on the Motability Scheme or to buy outright. What is not yet on sale is Kia’s own factory-built PV5 WAV, which boards from the side and which Kia has announced for the UK; as of September 2026 it cannot yet be ordered. If you want a PV5 WAV now, or you want rear entry, the conversions above are the ones you can have.
It depends mostly on where you park. Our three PV5 conversions board by a rear ramp; Kia’s factory PV5 WAV boards through the side sliding door. A rear ramp needs clear space behind the vehicle to lower it and line up the chair, which usually suits a driveway or a parking bay with an aisle behind. A side entry needs space alongside, which can mean a wider bay in a car park. On the PV5, rear entry is also what makes our second-row, third-row and drive-from-wheelchair layouts possible. A home demonstration is the easiest way to check the space you have.
