Citroën Spacetourer Quantum XL WAV
More space to travel together
The Citroën Spacetourer Quantum XL is a spacious and versatile Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) designed for families who need extra room to travel comfortably. Its extended body measures 5309 mm, 350 mm longer than the standard Spacetourer Quantum, and that length goes into passenger space, wheelchair accommodation and luggage, making it equally practical for everyday journeys and longer trips.
With the wheelchair passenger travelling in the second row, the Quantum XL creates a more inclusive travelling experience, keeping everyone closer together. Flexible seating configurations let you tailor the interior around the way you travel, with up to six seated passengers alongside the wheelchair user, or seven when the vehicle travels without one.
Getting in and out is straightforward thanks to the low-angle rear access ramp. It is a lightweight bi-fold design set at a low gradient, so boarding takes minimal effort, and like every WAV we build the Quantum XL starts with a lowered floor, which is what gives a generous 56″ (1440 mm) of maximum interior headroom and a bright, spacious and comfortable environment for the wheelchair passenger.
Available in Plus and Max trim levels
The Quantum XL offers an impressive range of comfort and technology, including cruise control, a 10″ touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, twin sliding side doors and rear parking sensors. Max models add features including electric sliding doors, dual-zone climate control, a parking camera and leather seats.
Powered by a 2.0 BlueHDi 180 engine with eight-speed automatic transmission, the Citroën Spacetourer Quantum XL combines effortless driving, easy wheelchair access and flexible passenger space in one highly practical family wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Every Quantum XL conversion is safety tested to EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval and is compatible with PAS 2012, the UK standard for wheelchair accessible vehicles. The wheelchair position is secured with high-quality four-point restraints as standard, upgradeable to 200 kg at no cost on the Motability Scheme. GM Coachwork has been converting vehicles at its own Devon workshops since 1988, and every Citroën Spacetourer XL WAV carries our three-year conversion warranty.

Wheelchair access and dimensions
All the wheelchair accessible vehicles we build start with a lowered floor, so the wheelchair user travels at a natural height with a clear view out rather than tucked in behind the rear seats. On the Quantum XL the entrance, the ramp and the travelling position are the same as the standard Quantum. The extra 350 mm of body length sits behind the wheelchair position, which is where the additional passenger and luggage space comes from.
If you are comparing wheelchair accessible vehicles, the figures below are the ones worth checking, measured against your own chair with you sitting in it. The ramp has a 350 kg safe working load, so check that against the weight of the chair with you in it as well. If anything is close, arrange a home demonstration and try it rather than working from a tape measure.

The vehicle itself measures 5,309 mm long, 1,920 mm wide excluding mirrors and 1,890 mm high, so it still parks on a standard driveway and clears most public car park height barriers. If 5,309 mm is more length than you need, the Spacetourer Quantum is the same conversion on the shorter 4,959 mm body.
Every Quantum XL is built at our own workshops in Devon, so if a measurement looks close, send us your chair’s make and model and we will check it against the vehicle for you. We can also bring both vehicles to you on the same visit, so you can compare the XL against the standard Quantum side by side before you decide.
The Quantum XL wheelchair-accessible vehicle comes standard with either two or three front seats and one rear seat. You also have the option to configure it with two front seats and two rear seats or three front seats and two rear seats. For even more flexibility, additional tip-and-fold seats can be added in the third row as optional extras.

Citroën Spacetourer XL FAQs
Body length, and nothing else that affects the wheelchair user. The Quantum XL is 5,309 mm long against the standard Spacetourer Quantum at 4,959 mm. The entrance, the ramp, the lowered floor and the travelling position are the same on both, so if a chair fits one it fits the other. The extra 350 mm sits behind the wheelchair position and goes into passenger space and luggage room, which is what makes the XL the choice for longer journeys and for carrying more with you. If you want the same extra length with the Chorus conversion instead, that is the Spacetourer Chorus XL.
Check three things against your own chair, measured with you sitting in it. The entrance is 29″ (745 mm) wide by 56″ (1440 mm) high. The travelling position is 27″ (700 mm) wide by 55″ (1400 mm) long, with 56″ (1440 mm) of maximum interior headroom, so measure your seated height as well as the chair. And the ramp has a 350 kg safe working load, which has to cover the chair with you in it. If anything is close, book a home demonstration. We bring vehicles to your door anywhere in the UK, with no obligation, and if you tell us your chair’s make and model beforehand we will check the measurements against the vehicle for you first.
Up to six seated passengers alongside the wheelchair user, or seven when it travels without one. In its standard layout the Quantum XL has two or three seats in the front and one seat in the rear. Adding a second rear seat and tip and fold seats in the third row takes it to six. The XL’s extra length adds room around those seats and behind the wheelchair position rather than adding more of them, so the seat count is the same as the standard Quantum.
On the Motability Scheme the Quantum XL starts from a £10,995 Advance Payment, with the lease, insurance, servicing and breakdown cover then met from your weekly allowance in the usual way, and a range of no-cost adaptations, listed under non-cost options above, chosen when you order. Visit the official site for more details on how the Motability Scheme works.

Almost certainly, and it is worth checking before you commit. The Quantum XL is 5,309 mm long, 1,920 mm wide excluding mirrors and 1,890 mm high. The height is the number that matters for multi-storey car parks, where barriers are commonly set at 2.0 m or 1.9 m, so the XL clears most of them but not all. The length is the number that matters on a driveway: at 5.3 m it is longer than a large estate car and about the length of a long-wheelbase van, and you also need room behind it to deploy the rear ramp. Measure the space you park in, and if it is tight, the standard Spacetourer Quantum at 4,959 mm is the same conversion on a shorter body.
