Citroën Spacetourer Turin
Up-Front WAV
Travel up front and enjoy every journey together
The Spacetourer Turin is a spacious up-front Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) designed to give wheelchair passengers a more inclusive and enjoyable travelling experience. With the wheelchair passenger positioned alongside the driver, you can enjoy a great view ahead, easier conversation and the feeling of travelling together from the front row. If you would rather the wheelchair user travelled in the rear, the Spacetourer Quantum and Spacetourer Chorus are the rear-passenger conversions on the same base vehicle.
Getting into position is straightforward. Boarding is through a 31″ (787 mm) rear entrance with 55″ (1415 mm) of entrance height, on a lightweight bi-fold ramp set at a low gradient so pushing up takes little effort. The Turin starts with a lowered floor, which is what gives the room to manoeuvre forward through the cabin, and once up front the wheelchair passenger travels with 50″ (1270 mm) of interior headroom and a clear view out of the windscreen.
The flexible interior can be tailored around the way you travel. In the standard layout the wheelchair is secured in the front passenger position with one rear seat behind the driver, and optional tip and fold seats in the third row take the Turin to four seated passengers plus the wheelchair passenger.
Available in Plus and Max trim levels
The Turin offers a generous range of comfort and technology, including cruise control, a 10″ touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, twin sliding side doors and rear parking sensors. Max models add features including electric sliding doors, dual-zone climate control, a parking camera and leather seats.
Powered by a 2.0 BlueHDi 180 engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Citroën Spacetourer Turin combines easy wheelchair access, flexible passenger space and the freedom to travel alongside the driver in one highly versatile up-front wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Safety tested to EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval and fully compatible with PAS 2012, the UK standard for wheelchair accessible vehicles, every Turin leaves our Devon workshops with high-quality four-point restraints as standard, upgradeable to 200 kg at no cost on the Motability Scheme. GM Coachwork has been converting vehicles here since 1988, and the Turin comes with our three-year conversion warranty.

Wheelchair access and dimensions
The Turin is an up-front conversion, so the wheelchair user boards at the rear and travels forward to the front passenger position rather than staying in the back. Like all the wheelchair accessible vehicles we build, the Turin starts with a lowered floor, which is what makes that route work: no step, no transfer, and a view out of the windscreen rather than over the seat backs.
When you are comparing WAVs, check the entrance and the travelling position against your own chair, measured with you sitting in it, and check the ramp’s safe working load against the chair’s weight with you in it. Ask us for the current ramp figure when you enquire. Anything close is a reason to book a home demonstration rather than rely on a tape measure.

The vehicle itself measures 4959 mm long, 1920 mm wide excluding mirrors and 1890 mm high, so it parks on a standard driveway and clears most public car park height barriers.
Every Citroën Spacetourer Turin is built at our own workshops in Devon, so if a measurement looks close, send us your chair’s make and model and we will check it against the vehicle for you. If you would rather the wheelchair user travelled in the rear of the vehicle, the Spacetourer Quantum and Spacetourer Chorus are the rear-passenger conversions on the same base vehicle.
The Citroën Spacetourer Turin up-front passenger vehicle is designed to allow the wheelchair occupant to sit alongside the driver. In its standard layout the Citroen Spacetourer Turin includes a passenger seat directly behind the driver. Optional ‘tip and folds seats’ increase the carrying capacity to four plus the wheelchair occupant to create even more room when needed.
The Citroën Spacetourer Turin up-front passenger vehicle is fitted with a host of high quality accessibility enhancements. Each of the features listed below are available as optional extras.
Thanks to Motability, the Citroën Spacetourer Turin up-front passenger vehicle is available with a range of non-cost options. Simply choose the items you would like fitted and inform your GM advisor at the time of ordering.

Spacetourer Turin Up-Front WAV FAQs
Up front, in the front passenger position next to the driver. That is what makes the Turin an up-front WAV rather than a rear-passenger one. The wheelchair user boards by the rear ramp and travels forward through the cabin to the front position, so they get the view ahead, they can talk to the driver without turning round, and they are part of the journey rather than sitting behind everyone.
Where the wheelchair user travels, and it changes the whole experience of the journey. In an up-front WAV like the Turin, the wheelchair user rides in the front passenger position beside the driver. In a rear wheelchair passenger WAV like the Spacetourer Quantum or Spacetourer Chorus, they travel behind the seated rows, which suits families who need to carry more people.
There is a third option, the internal transfer conversion, where the wheelchair user transfers into a standard vehicle seat and the chair is stowed. The Spacetourer Monterey 6 is ours. We build all three on the same Citroën Spacetourer, so if you are unsure which suits you, ask us and we will talk it through.
Check three things against your own chair. The entrance is 31″ (787 mm) wide by 55″ (1415 mm) high. The travelling position is 27″ (700 mm) wide by 55″ (1400 mm) long, with 50″ (1270 mm) of interior headroom, so measure your seated height as well as the chair. And the ramp has a safe working load that has to cover the chair with you in it, so ask us for the current figure when you enquire. If anything is close, book a home demonstration. We bring vehicles to your door anywhere in the UK, with no obligation, and if you tell us your chair’s make and model beforehand we will check the measurements against the vehicle for you first.
On the Motability Scheme the Turin starts from a £16,295 Advance Payment, with the lease, insurance, servicing and breakdown cover then met from your weekly allowance in the usual way, and a range of no-cost adaptations, listed under non-cost options above, chosen when you order. If you are buying privately, call us on 01626 333000 for a price, including the VAT position, and we take part exchange.
Up to four seated passengers alongside the wheelchair user. In the standard layout the wheelchair is secured in the front passenger position with one rear seat behind the driver, and optional tip and fold seats in the third row take it up to four seated. Because the wheelchair user occupies the front passenger position, the seating you add sits behind them rather than around them.
